My Favourite ( More Unique) Watercolour Shades

I wanted to share with you some of my favorite watercolors. Keep on Scrolling for the full list & links.

I have a large collection and am always on the hunt for that perfect shade. I am not comparing brands here or reviewing sets, these are just some of the more unique shades of watercolor in my collection.

I find that the great brands (Daniel Smith, Schmincke, Sennelier, Holbein to name a few) have a very comparable range of standard colors, but the ones I mention here are a little harder to find. Not every brand has every shade, obviously.

I find when it comes to the primary colors and the classic choices for a palette, the differences between this ultramarine blue or that are not that big, and it comes down to personal preferences.

Personally, I love the tertiary colors the most. The violets, the orange yellows, the turquoises, teals and mints. While one can certainly mix similar shades using primary colors, I keep a range of my favorites in my palette. Some for conveniece, and some because they are rather impossible to mix (like the fluorescent colors).

There are so many beautiful pigments and colors, why not use them? So these are MY picks, based on MY colour preferences.
