Week In Review- New Layouts, Videos and More!

Hi! It's been too long since I've done a week in review post, and lots has happened!
I have posted many videos this month to my YouTube channel, including a kit share, kill a kit and lots of process videos.

But first, just a few words about my design teams in the next months. I'm thrilled to continue on the Hip Kit Club design team, and to join The Cut Shoppe and Shimmerz teams.
Besides the fact that I love all those 3 companies and their owners, I think it will bring a nice balance and variety to my blog and YouTube channel. Lots of scrapbooking, some with kits, some with mixed media, some with my electronic die cutting machine. It's gonna be great! My first posts for The Cut Shoppe and Shimmerz will be up early September. Here are some sneaks-

So what's new on my channel? I did an August kit share video-

And to finish my July kit business I posted a layout share video-

I got 19 (!!!) layouts from the July kits, and still have some goodies left... Here are all the process videos posted in the last couple of weeks-

Lots to watch! Best way to follow all my videos is to subscribe to my YouTube channel!

And last but not least, my watercolor background class is available now on Big Pictures Classes! Students are posting their projects inspired by the class and that makes me so so happy! I would love it if you checked it out, you can sign up for a 2 week free trial and see if you like it. There are over a 100 classes available once you sign up and new ones are added every week! Here's a little peak at some of the projects I create and explain in the class-

I'll be back soon to share (almost) all the layouts I created with the July Hip Kits, and more new projects! Have a great weekend!

Shimmerz Design Team!!

Hi! I'm so excited to join the Shimmerz design team!
I've watched in awe Missy Whidden play with those lovely colors and I could not be happier to get to do the same!
If you don't know Shimmerz, check out their website. They have lots of gorgeous shimmery watercolors, mists and pastes.
I will be sharing layouts and tips on not only how to use the different products, but also how to choose colors and color combinations.
Here's the first tip. I love to match colors to a collection I know I'm going to use on a layout. It makes the whole process much faster and easier. For one of my first projects I want to use Crate Paper's Wonder collection-

Inklingz (shimmering watercolors)- Miner Miner 49er (a delicate gold), She Packs a Punch (a beautiful warm pink)
Creameez (watercolors with a touch of shimmer)- Get Glowing (lovely gold), Good Ol' Summer Time (one of my favorites- a warm almost coral pink)
Coloringz (flat, as in no shimmer, mist)- Oh Say Can U Sea (bright aqua and gorgeous)
Spritz (iridescent mist)- Caribbean Sunset (a lovely orange red)
Vibez (iridescent mist)- Egg Noggin & Glorious Days (both shimmery gold, glorious days is brighter)
Dazzlerz (shimmery paste and absolutely lovely!)- Dreamscicle (coraly peachy perfection), Coral Me Crazy (soft peach)
Texturez (textural shimmery paste)- Patina (love this color, it's aqua galore!)

If you'd like to play along, you can find these lovelies at the Shimmerz store, mention my name in the instructions to merchant and you'll get a free product!

I'll be back tomorrow with a new layout! Thanks for visiting!

My First Online Class Is Live On Big Picture Classes!

I am beyond excited.
This is s dream come true for me.
I love scrapbooking, I love sharing my techniques and tips, and I love using mixed media on my layouts, especially watercolors.
My first online class is all about creating beautiful background with watercolors. I think there's a lot of amazing content out there, with many great videos and tutorials about watercolors. But as a scrapbooker, they don't always work for me on my layouts.

So in my class I focus on techniques that work specifically with 12*12 layouts. Obviously one can use them on other projects, but I'm a scrapbooker at heart so that was my goal.

There are 6 lessons with process videos explaining how to create these layouts. I really hope you will join me at BigPictureClasses!!

September 2015 Hip Kit Club Reveal!!!

Hi! I'm so excited about the September kits! I have to admit I thought August's kits would be really hard to top, but Kimberly did it again, and the September ones are packed with brand new goodies that are just scrumptious.
Let's start with the main kit-

The September main is full of lovely shades of blue, with lots of new goodies from Amy Tan's new collection Finders Keepers. I love the pops of pink and yellow (shocker)!

Always a favorite, the embellishment kit is lovely-

Love the Thickers, the rubber embellishments, washi and the new Dear Lizzy wooden buttons!
Next is the color kit, and I think this month's is a really good one to try if you want to dabble in some mixed media but keep it clean.

The project life kit has some great bits and pieces that will work for pocket page protectors or traditional 12*12 (I'll update the image once the cards are added)-

If you need some extra papers (I always do!!) grab the patterned paper add on, which will really help you stretch your kit-

And for your cardstock needs-

That's it! Can't wait to get my hands on all these lovelies!
If you'd like to subscribe, here's a code for you, use my name and you'll get a free patterned paper add on with your new subscription!

In the meantime, I have August kits to play with, and they are so gorgeous! I decided to try something different this month, and arranged the embellishments by color. I'll report and tell you if it works for me! Sure looks pretty!

The large container with the colorful dots and the small ones are from Ikea, the metal ones I picked up in France while traveling, I knew they would be handy!
Thanks for visiting! I'll be back soon with more projects and updates! Have a lovely Sunday!

The Cut Shoppe New Design Team!

Hi! I am so so excited and honored to be a part of The Cut Shoppe design team!

I love my electronic die cutting machine (Silhouette Cameo), and Ashley's amazing cut files. Ever since I got my machine I've been wanting to use it more, and every time I use it I ask myself why I don't use it more often.
Why do I love it so much? So glad you asked!
I love the flexibility. I mostly use white cardstock to cut, which gives me endless color options, and works with everything in my stash. I love that I can cut any title, embellishment or background just when I need it, in whichever size and quantity.
What I have been really loving lately, is how easy using cut files makes designing a page. Most of the design work is already done for me once I choose which cut files to use (that part is tough!!).

So, for this happy occasion I made a layout, of course! I used the Rosey Posey cut file for this project. I cut it one and a half times on a 12*12, as much as I could fit!

See what I mean? One does not need more once that pretty die cut is on the page. Just a few embellishments from Maggie Holmes and I call this one done!

This is the cut file I used (click on it to go to the store)-

And here are some new files available at The Cut Shoppe (click on the image for the store)-

Thanks for visiting, I'm already working on my projects, which will be up in September!

Week In Review- New Layouts and Exciting Things!

Hi! It's been a fun week for me, with lots of scrapbooking and excitement about things to come.
The most exciting thing that is happening right now (more good things to come soon though!!!) is that my first online class will be up very very soon over on Big Pictures Classes. It's starting on the 17th of August, and I could not be more excited!
My class shows several easy techniques for creating beautiful watercolor backgrounds for scrapbook layouts. There are detailed video tutorials showing the whole process, step by step. I hope to see you in class!!

There are a 100 classes available now for subscribers, and now is a particularly great time to sign up for a free trial!-

'In celebration of reaching 100 classes, BPC is offering new members who start a free trial the chance to win a one year membership! This giveaway will be open through the end of this month, and the winner will be announced and notified via email on September 4th.'

I chat about it in my August chit chat video-

But I started the week with sharing my many interesting thoughts about the Hip Kit Club July kits ;)

Next up I shared a process video inspired by a new online class I've been loving called The Softer Side. I talk about it in the video, along with some thoughts about scraplifting and inspiration-

This is the layout I created inspired by that class, I used the July Hip Kits and the free cut files from the Hip Kit Club website-

On Thursday I posted my weekly video for Hip Kits, and this is the first one showing my vacation scrapbook layouts.

Last but not least this week is a fun video I posted yesterday, where I continue to play with my stash. This time I had to use Stampin Up inks, background stamps, studio calico stamps, glitter thickers, Amy Tan's embroidery kit and Maggie Holmes chipboard. Here's the layout and the video-

I'll be back very soon with some new projects! Have a lovely Sunday!

A Week's Review + New Projects & Process Videos

Hi! I've been on holiday this past week, but my YouTube channel has been actually rather active! I've posted lots of new videos using up my Hip Kits.
I created this layout using the May kits and some fun mixed media-

Here's the video-

The next one is quite fun, it shows how I created 3 layouts using leftovers from the June Hip Kit-

It has lots of tips on using up kits. Here are the layouts I create in that video-

I also uploaded a little haul, mostly some really fun stamps from Studio Calico-

Finally, my last post using the June kits went up on the Hip Kit Club blog on Thursday, here's my layout-

And the process video-

I used my last embellishment clusters I made at the beginning just when I received my kit (there's a video showing that on my channel).
I have a couple of very exciting things coming up this month, so stay tuned!
