March's Focus- Scrapbooking with 6*6 Paper Pads- Dear Lizzy Daydreamer

Today I'm sharing a new layout I created using some new pretty things from the Dear Lizzy Daydreamer collection.
Here's my layout-

A week ago I received an order from Simon Says Stamp of some new products. Since I'm a subscriber to the Scraptastic monthly kit club, I'm trying to shop less (unfortunately with absolutely no success in the last week...). I did however want some products from my favorite companies and designers' latest collections. This is what I got-

I decided to get the 6*6 paper pads of my favorite designers' new collections- Plus One by Amy Tan, Daydreamer by Dear Lizzy and Styleboard by Maggie Holmes. I put aside the Amy Tan products for now, because I  know the March Scraptastic kit has lots more of those, and I want to use them all together. But I've been playing with the other two. As you can see, from the Daydreamer collection I got the pad, the die cut pack, puffy heart stickers and the flair. I find that I enjoy different materials, and having that combination of paper and other embellishments. The end result is more to my liking, and I really get that feel of using new fun products without buying the whole collection.

This is a fun way to showcase some patterns, and to really dig into that paper pad. I cut the papers to 2 and 3/4 of an inch squares. There are no rules to this, of course, but I tried to use just a few colorful patterns, and placed them far apart. As for the other patterns, I tried not to place a pink pattern next to another pink pattern and so on.
The 12*12 paper I used here is from another Dear Lizzy collection, Polka Dot Party that came out last year. I wrote this also in Monday's post (where I used the Styleboard collection), that when using a limited number of products from a collection, and needing more, other collections by the same designer or company are a great place to start. Many times they will coordinate beautifully.
I thought the background needed something, so I added some dash lines with a white gel pen.

All that was left was to add the photos and some embellishments.

This is a really simple design that lets the patterns shine, and needs little embellishments to look interesting and rich.
I'll be posting some more layouts made with the Feel Again kit (Scraptastic February's kit) on Monday.
Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend!
