Scrapbooking with a Kit-Scraptastic Tongue Tied Kit

finally, I managed to kill a kit! I really have almost nothing left from the Scraptastic Tongue Tied kit and add on. I'm thrilled about getting so many layouts done! I wrote a few weeks ago, that I decided to subscribe to a kit club again, and why.
I'd like to share my process of scrapbooking with a kit, and of course the layouts, hopefully on a monthly basis.
I received the kit super fast, which is a rarity where I live (Austria). I started playing with a kit right away, and added a few items I had in my stash that coordinated with it. How did I choose which products to add from my stash? Simple. The January kit had lots of products from Studio Calico Printshop collection, so I grabbed what I had from that collection in my stash, which was a 6*6 pad, and a few 12*12 sheets of patterned paper. The kit had a package of fabric bows, so I raided my stash of bows, and used a looot of them on this month's pages.
So where do I start when I get a kit? I would say from the patterned paper. So here are a couple of the first layouts I created with this kit:

This particular paper is not from the kit, but I just loved it, and really wanted to use it, and after getting the kit I had other elements that worked well with it. This is a very simple design that really lets the patterned paper shine.

The next page also features one of my favorite papers this month, that gorgeous bold black on white script, also from SC Printshop collection.

I used a pale pink cardstock (that also came with the kit) as background, so that the black would really pop. Before I adhered anything to the cardstock I sprayed it lightly with some white mist using a stencil, to create a very subtle texture. You can see it better in this close up-

Everything else besides the pink camera flair is from the kit.

Love all those vellum die cuts!

More layouts using the January kit to come!
Thanks for visiting!

  8. Hello.

I just discovered your amazing blog! How you inspire me. You mentioned that you get the kit to Austria. I was wondering how you managed the international subscription? I would like to have the scrap tactic kit as well bit the problem is the shipping fees and French taxes. Have you found a good solution for this?
