An (almost) Monochromatic Layout

I was inspired to create this layout by concepts from Shimelle's new workshop at 2peas in a Bucket, and also from Noel at Paperclipping.
I love monochromatic layouts for two major reasons. The first one is that they are easier to make, because you only have to decide on one color. The second is that they are great for using up scraps.
There are a few things I'm trying to be conscious of when I scrapbook nowadays, because I really want to use my supplies. One of them is not to cut into 12*12 paper before I narrow my way-too-big scraps basket. This is actually working for me great at the moment, because I have so many lovely scraps that would be ignored if I were only tempted to use those inviting 12*12...  If I do cut into a 12*12, I try to use it all as fast as possible, and not pile it with the other scraps.
And sometimes, your supplies take you to places you wouldn't think of yourself. Here for example, while I was looking for scraps in that deep lovely orange shade (I used mostly My Mind's Eye papers here), I came across that floral print. It had that orange with turquoise, and it looked beautiful. So I added turquoise to my layout. Then I found that camera sticker from the Amy Tan collection Yes, Please. It had the turquoise heart, and the rest was grey. So I brought in a little grey as well. Love it when that happens:)
Here's the finished layout:

Finishing touches were added with some Sassafras Lass letter stickers and flowers and Freckled Fawn dew drops. Here are some close-ups:

These photos were taken about a year ago in Slovenia. How gorgeous are those autumn colors??
