Scrapbooking with 6*6 pads- Daydreamer collection- Part 2

This March I'm playing with my 6*6 pads, especially a couple of new ones, like Dear Lizzy's Daydreamer. Here's the page I created-

I would say there are some strong Wilna Furstenberg influences here. Firstly, those gorgeous frames are a cut file she designed, they (and more lovely cut files) can be found in the 2 Peas in a Bucket digital online shop. Secondly, using white cardstock as background and framing it with patterned paper is something I also got from Wilna. And thirdly, using a few colors and then matching the embellishments to those colors.

I picked a few patterned paper in each color and layered them. The last layer in the back is vellum, to give more texture and airiness.

I have no thickers from the Daydreamer collection, but those polka dot Thickers from Dear Lizzy's previous collection, Polka Dot Party, coordinate well with this page. That LOVE paper clip is by Freckled Fawn (thx again, Petra!). The page is about my best friend and her new baby, and getting to spend some time with them during my last visit to Israel.

I really love the look of this layout, clean with different subtle textures. I will definitely do something similar again.

For the second layout I used the big frame die from the Daydreamer nesting die set.

For some reason I couldn't edit the photo of the whole layout and get the colors right, the background is more minty, but it shows better in the detail shots .
I created the background with some 6*6 papers, that I cut with the scalloped frame die. I didn't have any 12*12 papers from this collection, so I looked in my 12*12 paper pad from the Polka Dot Party collection and found that nice minty background. I always go to the same designer's or company's other collections first when looking for something that coordinates.

I created the embellishments using a scalloped circle punch, and two metal dies.

This is a great way to create your own embellishments, especially when scrapbooking with limited supplies. This way the embellishments coordinate perfectly, can be customized to fit the color scheme, and only require paper. I used some flair here, but it would have also looked nice with nothing on top, or with something else, like a brad or an enamel dot.

So dig into those 6*6 pads and have some fun!
Tomorrow I'll be back with another process video with lots of misting... Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting!

  1. I really like both of your pages! I like the quadrant look you acheived on the first one and how you softened the page by using your punch on the second. Great layouts!
