January's Focus on Mists Continues!

I'm continuing my quest for getting more from my mists. I love the result here, and it's definitely different from how I use my mists 95% of the time.
Here's the finished page followed by some process photos and explanations.

This is a photo of my mom and my daughter and I love the expression on my mom's face.
I started with some... mists. And white paper. I used here Ranger's Specialty Stamping Paper, because I had some, and wanted to try it. Quote- "Ranger Surfaces Specialty Stamping Paper is a unique matte coated paper perfect for creative stamping and coloring—use ink, paint, emboss and embellish!" I only tried embossing and coloring with ink spray here, but I was really pleased with it. The paper is sturdy and because of the smooth surface doesn't absorb the mist, which lets you play with it and move it around.
For this page I used Mr. Huey's ink sprays.
I have quite a few Studio Calico Mr. Huey's that I really like and use a lot. Mr. Huey's are matte ink sprays (except Shine, which is just shimmer, and the gold and silver that have some shimmer or more like very fine glitter, but not too overwhelming). They dry pretty fast and have a good color selection. The colors are usually very modern and on trend. I used quite a few bottles of these sprays, and I think they are great. I do however find them a little pricey, and so I've moved on to other sprays that contain more product, or I make my own (like in the previous post). Studio Calico tend to offer many of their products for a limited time, so if you find a shade you really love, I suggest to stock up on it. I'm not one to search Ebay or make an effort to find something that is not available where I usually shop, if you are not like that, then probably you can find also the items that are no longer manufactured.
The shades I used here are older and are not so easily available anymore, but there are similar shades that are. I used the mist with a little bit water to get a more water-colored look. For what I painted here I needed very little mist. The drops that come out of the other end of the nozzle when you unscrew it were enough (one spritz was way too much). You could do a LOT of painting with one bottle of mist, which makes this a great way to stretch your supplies.

I used some stamps to create a pattern on the paper and embossed them with white embossing powder.

The circle stamp is from an Impression Obsession set, and the rest from a Fiskars set called Petals From Scratch. I just stamped the images randomly to get a nice overall look.
Then I just colored within the lines. Super simple.

I chose the colors to roughly coordinate with the photo, but other than that I had no idea which products I was going to use. Eventually I chose a striped patterned paper from Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm collection. I was surprised that the two matched so well, somehow that modern striped pattern made my paper less childish. I love how clean and modern the two look together. To my scrap basket I went, and found some strips of patterned paper to add some layers and interest.

I used October Afternoon letter stickers to create the title (Ella is my daughter's name and safta is Hebrew for grandma, sadly I do not have any Hebrew letter stickers) and embellished with some chipboard shaped from Dear Lizzy 5th&Frolic and Prima Marketing enamel hearts. I really wanted to keep the look here clean and bright.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you try doing something different with your mists!
